Self-guided walking from Vila Nova de Milfontes to São Luis via Odeceixe.
This programme offers a mix of both the Fishermen's Trail and the Hist0rical Way. During the first three days, for the most part the trail follows paths that have been used by local fishermen for generations to reach the best spots for line fishing from the cliffs. In the serra, initially you will be tempted by the views of the Atlantic before the trail meanders through the forests, following the river valleys.
After the seaside villages which are bustling resorts in the hot summer months, offering a number of "Blue Flag" beaches and a host of nautical activiites, you will pass through sleepy inland Alentejano villages, where life continues at a slow pace..
The trail itself is an incredible sensory experience, from the sounds of the birds and the vast Atlantic Ocean crashing against the rocks, abundant plant life with a multitude of colours, shades and fragrances and varied geological phenomenon. The forests display the changing colours of the cork oak trees and the flowers and fruits of the strawberry tree.
Walking. Varied walking tour only requiring a good basic fitness level. You walk on well maintained marked walking trails and partly on forest paths. On the coastal trails there is a considerable amount of dune walking. Daily walking times are max. 8 hours.

From 1 February to 14 May (except Easter holiday period) and from 1 October to 30 November:

€190.00 - single room supplement for main programme only.
15 May to 30 June, 11 - 30 September and Easter holiday period 1 April to 15 April:
€605.00 - main programme
€210.00 - single room supplement for main programme only.
€115.00 - solo walker supplement in any period.
An extra night in São Luís at the end of the programme so that you can relax after your walks.
€40.00 lower season or €50.00 higher season, per person based on 2 persons sharing a twin/double room.
An extra night in the middle of the programme in Odeceixe where you can take a 15km circular walk from the village via the award winning beach.
€55.00 lower season or €65.00 higher season, per person based on 2 persons sharing a twin/double room.
Rest days at any location can also be arranged.
Private transfers from regional airports can be arranged. Prices available on request.
What's included.
The standard package includes: 7 nights bed and breakfast in twin/double room with en suite facilities, 6 simple packed lunches + 1.5 l of water each walk day, baggage transfers during tour, emergency support phone line, 4x4 emergency support vehicle, obligatory personal accident insurance and walk information pack provided by Ramblin'tejano, our licenced recreational activities operator in Portugal.
Excluding: flights, airport transfers (unless requested), travel insurance*, dinners, other drinks, personal expenses and gratuities.
