New Fishermen's Trail - 7 days - 5 walks.
Self-guided walking on the Rota Vicentina from São Torpes to Odeceixe.
This programme covers the entire length of the Fishermen's Trail from its new northern start point at São Torpes in the south west Alentejo. For the most part, it follows paths that have been used by local fishermen for generations to reach the best spots for line fishing from the cliff tops.
The route passes through several seaside villages which are very popular resorts in the hot summer months, offering a number of "Blue Flag" beaches and a host of nautical activiites.
The trail itself is an incredible sensory experience, from the sounds of the birds and the vast Atlantic Ocean crashing against the rocks, abundant plant life with a multitude of colours, shades and fragrances and varied geological phenomenon.
At times, you will be following in the footsteps of the elephants that lived there 25,000 years ago.
Walking. Varied walking tour only requiring a good basic fitness level. You walk on well maintained marked walking trails. On these coastal trails there is a considerable amount of dune walking. Daily walking times are max. 7 hours.

An extra night at Odeceixe to be able to take a 15km circular walk from the village via the awarding beach.

A rest day mid way through the programme at the guest house behind the sand dunes in Almograve, where you can relax around the pool.

What's included.
The standard package includes: 6 nights bed and breakfast in twin/double room with en suite facilities, 5 simple packed lunches + 1.5 l of water each walk day, baggage transfers during tour, emergency support phone line, 4x4 emergency support vehicle, obligatory personal accident insurance and walk information pack provided by Ramblin'tejano, our licenced recreational activities operator in Portugal.
Excluding: flights, airport transfers (unless requested), travel insurance*, dinners, other drinks, personal expenses and gratuities.
