Booking Terms and Conditions.


 


BOOKING PROCEDURE


The person signing the booking form expressly warrants that he/she does so with the authority of all the persons named on the booking form.


When booking, please send a deposit of €50.00 (EUR) / £50.00 (GBP) per person. The balance must reach us at least 6 weeks before the start of the holiday; otherwise we cannot guarantee to hold your booking.


Where bookings are made less than 6 weeks before the start of the tour, the full amount is payable at the time of booking.

 


IF YOU ALTER YOUR BOOKING


If you wish to alter your holiday arrangements after the booking has been confirmed, we will do our best to accommodate you, subject to availability, but an alteration fee of €25.00 (EUR) / £25.00 (GBP) per person may be made.

 


IF WE ALTER YOUR BOOKING


In the event of any alteration to the published itinerary prior to your departure you will be notified as soon as possible. If you find the alterations unacceptable, please advise us within seven days. If you wish, you may transfer to another trip. We will then pay you compensation of €25.00 (EUR) / £25.00 (GBP) for any inconvenience caused unless the reason for the alteration is force majeure, defined as unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond the control of Ramblin'trails, the consequences of which could not have been avoided by Ramblin'trails, even with the exercise of all due care. Alternatively, you may cancel your booking and receive a full refund of any sum paid to Ramblin'trails.


During the trip we reserve the right, if we consider necessary, for any reason and at any time to alter an itinerary according to weather, force majeure or other considerations.



CANCELLATION


Should a holiday booking have to be cancelled, the person signing the booking form (or other duly authorised person) must notify us in writing and will be liable to cancellation charges in accordance with the following scale depending on the period in which we receive notification of cancellation before the scheduled commencement date of the holiday:


Cancellation refund applicable:


More than 42 days All except the €50.00 (EUR) / £50.00 (GBP) per person deposit.


42 – 29 days 75%


28 – 14 days 50%.


14 – 1 day None.



COVID-19 Temporary revised cancellation/alteration terms


Temporary revised cancellation/alteration terms for existing bookings and any new bookings for arrivals before 30 June 2020.


Clients may defer the holiday to a later date, up to the end of 2021, without loss of the deposit paid, provided the deferrment is requested at least 30 days prior to original scheduled arrival date.


The new arrival date does not need to be specified at time of deferrment. If the new date is in a different period, the price will be adjusted up or down depending on the published standard rates at the time of re-booking. NB. Published rates for 2020 will not be subject to any increases.


Clients may choose to book a different holiday with us, as we know that in the future they may have to consider a different length of stay, the price will be adjusted up or down depending on the published standard rates at the time of re-booking.


The standard alteration fee will be waivered.


These amended terms will apply until 30 April 2020 and will be reviewed and extended at that time if the situation continues to require such measures.


In the event that a client does not defer their holiday under these revised terms and the situation does not improve to the point that we believe that we cannot provide the holiday that was booked, then we will give notice of 30 days or more in respect of cancellation of the holiday and in the absence of us offering an acceptable alternative holiday, we will return all monies paid within 7 days. Clients must make their final payments, as contracted. Failure to make a final payment will render the holiday as cancelled and the deposit will be forfeit in accordance with our usual terms.


All revised terms in this extraordinary matter, which is beyond the control of Ramblin'trails, will at all times be to the advantage of the client in respect of the services that we were contracted to supply. Any subsequent alterations to these terms will always be to the further advantage of our clients, until such time as we can revert to our standard terms. We cannot be held responsible any for consequential losses.


We have been advised that most comprehensive travel insurance policies effected before 15th March 2020 will cover holidays booked before 15th March 2020 in respect of claims due to Covid-19.


INSURANCE


We do not accept any liability for any loss or injury however caused. We recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance covering you against illness, injury, and loss or damage to luggage. This insurance should also cover the possibility of your having to cancel your holiday for whatever reason.


For walking holidays in Portugal, in accordance with legislation currently in force, our licenced Touristic Recreational Activities Agents provide minimum levels of Personal Accident cover while you are on pre-arranged walks. This cover should not be considered as an adequate substitute for travel insurance.



HEALTH AND FITNESS


Bookings are accepted on the understanding that all persons walking/running are normally in good health and physically equal to the demands of a walking/running holiday.



EUROPEAN TRAVEL DIRECTIVE


Under current European regulations, all Tour Operators have to provide protection for their clients in the event of the Operator's financial failure. As required, Ramblin'trails deposits all monies received as holiday payment into the Trust Account of Ramblin'trails with Paypal, which safeguards your money prior to completion of your holiday.
